Seiko Prospex Modern Reinterpretation of the 1970 Seiko Mechanical Diver's Watch, Limited Edition automatic divers men's watch

This modern reinterpretation of the 1970 mechanical diving watch captures the beauty and mystery of the aurora shimmering in the polar skies with its delicately textured dial and subtle gradation of colors. The original watch, worn by Japanese adventurer Naomi Uemura from 1974 to 1976 when he completed a 12,000 km dog sled race from Greenland to Alaska, was a highly respected diver's watch whose design was instantly memorable as well as highly functional.

The delicate mirrored surfaces found throughout the watch create an elegant impression that enhances the beauty of the dial. The case has a hardened coating to protect the watch from scratches and the crystal is a double curved sapphire with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface to ensure great readability from any angle. The watch is water resistant to a depth of 200 meters.

The additional silicone strap has a train track design inspired by the original 1970's watch.

This watch is powered by Caliber 8L35, which was specially designed for diving by the watchmakers at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in northern Japan.
