The GMW-B5000 series retains the design of the DW-5000C, the first G-SHOCK launched in 1983, and is now all-metal, with features such as smartphone connectivity. Shock-resistant structure with a thin resin shock absorber sandwiched between the stainless steel metal bezel and main case. Size is maintained by high-density mounting technology. A screw-down case is used with a solid feel and DLC treatment is applied for excellent wear resistance. The metal band part is dimpled, inheriting the resin band design of the first model. Visibility is also improved by the use of film solar cells and STN-LCD (liquid crystal). The face is made of vapor-deposited glass with a bright green color. In terms of functionality, it is possible to obtain accurate time information by connecting to a dedicated application via Bluetooth® communication. It also boasts practical functions such as a standard radio wave time setting system (multiband 6), stable drive by rugged solar power, fully automatic high-brightness LED backlight, world time and day of the week display in 6 languages. It is a G-SHOCK that inherits its origins but is even more sophisticated with an all-metal construction.
